Urban Capital
Since the inception of our 48-unit Camden Lofts project in 1996, these have served as our guiding principles. Situated on the dusty streets of Camden Street within the then desolate Fashion District west of Toronto’s downtown core, this development revolutionized Toronto’s real estate landscape. Embracing urban living and raw space, Camden emphasized cubic footage over traditional square footage metrics.
Camden emerged from a conviction that the once-deindustrialized urban areas could be revitalized into thriving urban hubs. It underscored the notion that design-centric urban condominiums could rival suburban residences, catering to individuals seeking a more dynamic lifestyle.
Following Camden, our 66-unit Charlotte Lofts project and our inaugural Ottawa venture, the East Market—a substantial 420-unit development—further reinforced these principles. These projects, drawing from the lessons of Camden and Charlotte, demonstrated that the appeal of urban living extended beyond downtown Toronto, resonating with individuals across the nation.
Since those formative years, we have delivered over 4,500 urban condominiums, with an additional 2,600 currently under construction and several thousand more in the planning stages, amounting to over $3.7 billion in development. Expanding our horizons, we ventured into Montreal in 2003, collaborated with renowned Saucier + Perrotte Architectes for our River City development in 2009, and branched out to Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, and Halifax in 2013.
Our endeavors have consistently pushed boundaries and pioneered new frontiers, whether through urban-centric locations, high-end yet functional designs, or sustainable living initiatives. Today, we remain committed to this ethos, exploring new markets, embracing innovative architectural approaches, introducing fresh interior features and layouts, and implementing cutting-edge environmental measures.
